Why filtration is so important

Aquariums are really artificial homes for our fish. These confined spaces without freely running water and proportionally an extremely high number of fish per litre of water, require the support of technology to maintain conditions in which fish can survive and flourish. All fish produce a range of waste products which if they are allowed to accumulate within the aquarium, will lead to a decline in water quality and fish health. Whilst stringent feeding practices and regular water changes may help, most aquarists will rely upon some form of filter to remove and break down these potentially toxic waste products. There are many different types of filters to keep your aquarium clean and healthy. The Aqua One product range takes into account that every tank set up is different and depending on the size, the fish stock levels or simply for aesthetical reasons different people prefer different types of filters. The above process liquid filtration systems can be delivered in different materials such as plastic, Polypropylene, (coated) carbon steel, Stainless steel (314/316), Duplex and can be polished for specific applications such as food and beverage, chemical/refining/offshore/oilfield, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, metalworking, textile mills, ship builders, microelectronics and water treatment industries. Filtration and separation rates can be achieved from mm strainers to sub micron micro filtration and membrane filtration depending on the solids to be seperated or removed. Filter cartridges and filter bags can be offered in absolute and nominal micron rating ranges in materials or media such as nylon, polypropylene, polyester, stainless steel, Teflon, cotton, microglasfibre and cellulose in pleated polypropylene, resin bonded, melt blown (meltblown) and string wound (spunbound) versions or with activated carbon media. Also self-cleaning filters can be applied. Disposable or reusable types will be offered depending on the application and filtration requirements. Industrial liquids that can be treated include; potable water, process water, wastewater, sea water, brackish water, DI water, RO-prefiltration, edible oils, starch, inks, paints and coatings, acids, solvents, concentrated alkalines, chemicals, fuels, lubricating oils, coolants, catalyst protection, emulsions and bleach. Variables of factors that we can advise on are, filtration rates and efficiencies, flow demands, pressure rates, dirt holding capacity, material resistancy, polishing requirements, sector approvals (FDA etc) and operational and investment costs.
